1. Information we collect
We collect the following categories of personal information:
- Identifiers and contact information — name, email, phone number, project address, city/ZIP — when you submit our contact form, request a consultation, or contact us by email/phone.
- Project information — project type, scope, budget range, timeline, and any photos or notes you share with us.
- Chat content — messages you send to our AI chat assistant. These are sent to our AI provider (Anthropic) to generate replies and may be stored for short-term abuse prevention; we do not retain them as a long-term record beyond your session unless you copy them into a contact form or email.
- Internet and device information — IP address, browser type, operating system, referrer URL, pages viewed, time on page, clicks, and approximate location (derived from IP) — collected by our analytics tools when you consent.
- Geolocation — only if you grant browser permission while using a map feature.
- Inferences — basic, aggregated profile information (e.g., interest in residential vs. commercial work) derived from how you interact with the site.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16, and we do not collect special categories of personal information (e.g., health, biometric, racial, or religious data) through this website.
2. How we use your information
We use personal information to:
- Respond to your inquiry, schedule a free site evaluation, and deliver construction services;
- Send project-related communications, schedule updates, invoices, and warranty notices;
- Operate, maintain, secure, and improve the website and our AI chat assistant;

4. Sharing your information
We share personal information only as needed:
- Service providers / processors: Netlify (hosting), PracticPro (CRM and project management), LeadConnector (SMS delivery), PostHog (analytics), Google (Tag Manager, Maps, Analytics, Ads), Meta (Pixel when active), Anthropic (AI chat). These providers process information on our behalf under written agreements.
- Subcontractors and trade partners: when required to scope, design, permit, or build your project, and only to the extent necessary.
- Government and regulators: building, planning, health, fire, and other agencies when applying for permits or responding to inspections.
- Legal and safety: to comply with the law, enforce our terms, or protect rights, property, or safety.
- Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, with notice to you where required.
We do not sell personal information for money. To the extent that analytics or advertising cookies may constitute "sharing" of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising under California law, see Section 8 below.
All the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties, excluding aggregators and providers of the Text Message services.
5. Data retention
We keep personal information for as long as needed to provide services, maintain the client and project record, comply with our legal and warranty obligations (typically 7–10 years for project records under California construction law), and resolve disputes. Analytics data is generally retained for up to 14 months in aggregated form. Chat messages are retained only for short-term operational use; we do not maintain a long-term searchable record of chat content.
6. Security
We use HTTPS site-wide, scoped third-party API keys, and reputable processors. No method of online transmission is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. SMS / Text Messaging
By providing your phone number and checking an SMS consent checkbox on our Website, you provide your express written consent to receive customer care and service-related text messages from OCD Plan and Build Inc. at the phone number you provided. Messages may include consultation and site-visit confirmations, estimate follow-ups, project and inspection updates, invoice notifications, and other communications related to your inquiry or requested construction services.

- Message and data rates may apply.
- Message frequency varies based on your interactions with us.
- You may opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message.
- You may reply HELP to any message for assistance.
We will only send text messages to the phone number you provide for customer care, service-related communications, and marketing communications only when you separately consent to marketing messages.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties, except for aggregators and providers of the Text Message services.
Our text messaging service may be supported by service providers that help deliver text messages and are required to protect your information. Standard messaging rates from your wireless carrier may apply. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
8. California privacy rights (CCPA / CPRA)
California residents have the following rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (as amended by the CPRA):
- Right to know — what categories of personal information we collected, the sources, the purposes, and the categories of third parties with whom we shared it (in the prior 12 months).
- Right to delete personal information, subject to legal exceptions (e.g., active project records, warranty obligations).
